corresponding with Michael Harold is almost always provocative. this morning he sent me the photograph here, with a note saying a friend who teaches at a local university had taken it in europe very recently and it caught his eye, in part because it made him think of some of the pieces in “bialy/s”.

it made me, after a few moments, to remember the Cedar Tavern homage above, which could almost have derived from it.

in fact, it is a de/reconstuction that derives from this foto of a necklace of venetian origin that once belonged to Frida Kahlo.
