but oh the lava rises toward the head
of ruby insect Thing–
of ruby insect Thing–
what made it seem–
seems
sipping tumescent matter
on which it thrives.
Below is the color of all that is to come.
Above the shadow Has Been, writhing, writhing.
Happy Thing
where moon boat hides its eye
–colors of the sun transposed–
The matter has sloughed its dermis
and complements the visible.
